Having over 25 years as a professional visual artist working primarily in murals, graphic designs, illustrations, faux finishes, and painting in abstract and representational genres, plus teaching, project management, crew leadership, and client services, gives me the great insight into commercial type projects.

Professional Experience

• Pendleton Arts Center, Rising Sun, IN Current

Organizing and mounting exhibitions, reviewing art, and publicity marketing. Instrumental in formation of Southeast Indiana Friends of the Arts (SEIFA), newly-created artist’ organization.

• Verdin Company, Cincinnati, OH, Current

Public art installations. Specifying figurative bronze sculpture for municipal monuments in Lawrenceburg, IN, Newport, KY, Arlington, VA, and Forest Park, Ohio.

• Barn Art Project, Rising Sun, IN, Summer 2004

Created original art to be digitally reproduced to 12’ x 24’ for display on buildings. Ohio County Tourism Bureau funded the project as part of an on-going campaign.

• Riverfront Fountain and Plaza Project, Rising Sun, IN, Spring 2004

Designer and creative consultant to the City of Rising Sun for water features to be installed in the downtown plaza in spring of 2005.

• Artist in Residence, Batesville, IN, Intermediate School Winter 2004

Taught 400 fourth and fifth graders to design and paint murals. Project funded by Rural Alliance for the Arts.

• Commissioned Murals, Rising Sun and Aurora, IN Fall 2003

Designed and executed two public works of art for rural municipalities.

• Project Leader/Lead Artist, Artworks, Cincinnati, OH Summer 2003

Managed six week artistic bench project with twenty teenage apprentice artists and five teaching artists for nationally recognized youth employment program.

• Commissioned Murals, Dearborn Savings, Lawrenceburg, IN, Summer 2001

Created three 3’ x 5’ paintings representing historical buildings in Lawrenceburg.

Teaching abstract and representational painting in oil, watercolors and acrylics. Teaching faux finishing and interior design techniques.

• Glockenspiel Project, Verdin Company, Cincinnati, OH, 2002

Researched designed and created an animated glockenspiel installation with sculptures and murals representing the Chinook Indian Tribe of Vancouver, WA.San

• Jose University, San Jose, CA, 2000

Commissioned to paint a series of five 6’ x 6’ murals depicting the campus landscape.

• Alternative Graphics, San Jose, CA, 1992-2000

Owned and operated faux finishing / interior design company. Provided consultation, sales, design, painting, crew management, and financial management.

• Contempo Design, Milpitas, CA, 1998-2000

Created large graphic images used in the trade show industry. Clients included Apple Computer, Radius, Johnson & Johnson, and several major Silicon Valley companies.

All of this while working on freeform and statuary type fountain centerpieces for Mr. Mom's Inc., and Custom Fountains Inc.
